A census from the year 1651 to monitor the Hapsburg Monarchy’s re-catholization efforts and some information regarding local  damage from the recent war. Individuals (older than 11 years) are  listed for each household with information about their relationship  to the head of household, age, occupation, legal status (noble, free,  non-subject, or subject/serf); if Catholic, or how likely to convert  and if a widow or orphan. Records are available for all Bohemian  districts with the exception of Litoměřice, Práchen, Slaný, and  Vltav, which were destroyed. (written in Czech)

Archaic German Occupations

Extensive list, but lacking terms starting with G, H, L, and M.

Alphabetical in German with all letters.

This site includes definitions and sometimes a short article about  the nature of each occupation as it is not always obvious from the  English translation.

A wonderful site that includes many regional & historic word variants. Terms are grouped according to occupation without an  index, meaning that you might have to check the entire list.
